Last week our Senators decided to not even consider legislation that would address the climate crisis and the underlying causes of the Gulf oil disaster. The reason they didn't act: because Big Oil and Dirty Coal are funding their political campaigns. This can't stand.
With the midterm elections this fall, and the impact of Big Oil's influence coming to light, we have a huge opportunity to start cleaning up politics. Soon our Senators, will leave Washington DC and head back home for a month long August Recess.
This August Recess is our opportunity to demand that they stand with the people not polluters, by shifting millions in dirty energy handouts to job-creating clean energy investments.
